We’re back for 2021, but we’re doing things a little differently this year…
We are releasing a set of walking routes and activity ideas to inspire, motivate and encourage you to get out walking and #RediscoverWhereYouLive
Because of the uncertainties during the planning of the Festival around the COVID restrictions that would be in place in May, the Frodsham Festival of Walks Festival is in a virtual format this year.
We hope that our eight self-led walks will re-ignite an interest in Frodsham and neighbouring areas, introducing lesser known aspects of the locality and its heritage to some, whilst rediscovering the treasures that lie within the ancient borough of Frodsham, to others.
Enjoy these walks and stay safe. We hope to return to our usual programme of guided walks in 2022.
The ancient borough comprised the townships of Alvanley, Frodsham, Frodsham Lordship, Helsby, Kingsley, Manley, Newton by Frodsham and Norley.
Each walk is graded using the following categories.
On generally well-maintained, level surfaces. Suitable for less confident walkers, families with young children, or those simply looking for a short stroll. Up to 2 miles.
Mainly on gentle gradients but possibly including steps, stiles, unsurfaced paths or longer distances (up to 6 miles). Walking boots and waterproof clothing may be useful.
May include some steep paths, open country or longer distances (up to 10 miles). Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing recommended.
